Frequently Asked Questions
  • CAN GIFT CERTIFICATES BE REDEEMED FOR CASH?

Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.

  • CAN GIFT CERTIFICATES BE USED FOR PRIVATE CLASSES?

Gift certificates may ONLY be used for regularly scheduled classes. Regularly scheduled classes are already on the Class Calendar. Each class is two hours long and includes hands-on instruction, all food prepared and complimentary house wine. Gift certificates are valid for 5 years from the date of receipt. Also, gift certificates are not redeemable for cash.

  • IS THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS REQUIRED FOR A CLASS?

There IS a minimum number of students required in order for a class to be held. Typically, 6 to 8 but don't hang your hat on that. Be sure to make your reservations as soon as possible so that the class you desire isn't canceled due to low enrollment.

  • WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We recommend that you arrive just 5 minutes prior to the class start time listed on our schedule. Otherwise, you'll just be standing around looking at us.

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

For hands-on classes, comfortable clothing and kitchen-safe shoes are required.  Please! No flip flops or sandals! We will allow you to participate but we will not be happy about it.

We do provide our signature logo aprons for you to wear so your clothes don't get dirty.

  • WHAT IS YOUR BAD WEATHER POLICY?

We all know that winter will rear its ugly head sooner or later and we'll have to worry about the ice/snow/sleet etc., etc., etc......SO to make it as easy as possible on everyone

We will take the weather forecasts and driving conditions into consideration before making a decision. Canceling is a LAST RESORT!

If we make the decision to cancel, you will be notified via email NO LATER THAN NOON THE DAY OF THE CLASS.

That being the case, rest assured that your class credit will be honored and will be applied to any other class that you would like to take (or if you think you just want to move on and get your money back we will refund your money but we hate that you don't want to come back!).

  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Life happens – we get it!  Things come up that make it necessary for you to cancel class.  If you do have to cancel for any reason, we will miss you … but know that as long as your request is made more than 3 calendar days (the "Cancellation Date") prior to the class date, we will gladly refund your class fee, or transfer you to another classPlease note that the 3-day period includes the scheduled date of the class.  For example, if your class is scheduled for the evening of January 10th, you would need to cancel by January 7th at 11:59 pm.

Wanna know the reason behind the 3-day cancellation policy?  It’s because we need time to purchase product and prep for your class in order to give you the highest value for your class dollar! We also do a LOT of administrative prep for the class too.  Please understand that no exceptions can be made to our policy as we have already begun preparations for the class.

If it’s too late to cancel with a refund, then, find someone to come in your place.  Hmmm….who do I owe a favor for feeding my cat when I was out of town?  Who is special in my life and could use a little unexpected food love in their lives?  Get it?  Someoneneeds to get this experience, amiright?

We reserve the right to cancel/reschedule a class for any reason, including things like, zombie apocalypse, disease and pestilence, rampaging farm animals and, oh yeah, EEK!, low enrollment.  In the rare case that we have to cancel a class, you will (of course) be offered the choice of a full refund or class credit to take a different class.  It would be super uncool to keep your money now wouldn’t it?

  • ALL CLASSES ARE "HANDS-ON".

Our classes are designed to be recreational to help you better enjoy cooking at home for yourself, family and friends.

  • DO I NEED TO EAT BEFORE I COME TO CLASS?

Not really!  Our classes are designed to provide an entire meal for you to taste and enjoy.  Meals are served at a communal table for everyone to eat together and get to know each other.

  • WAYS TO VIEW OUR CLASS SCHEDULE:

On our Class Calendar, imagine that!?

  • PRE-ENROLLMENT IS REQUIRED:

Please note that pre-enrollment for classes is required.  No "walk-ins" allowed.

  • OK, THEN WHO ARE THESE CLASSES NOT DESIGNED FOR?

So, you can't please everyone, right?  Here is who probably won't enjoy these classes:

Accountants, engineers or perfectionists.  I love you, guys, but I will drive you crazy if you’re exacting and I speak from experience.  It’s also not for folks who want to cook like a professional chef or in a restaurant, have a negative attitude or think they know it all.  Believe me, if you're out to prove something , this isn't the place for you.

But if you want to have a great time and meet some great people...this is the place.  We've got your spot reserved!

  • OK, THEN SHOULD I TAKE A RECREATIONAL COOKING CLASS?

If you can answer, YES, to any of the following, then you could benefit (heck, you could have a really great time!) from one of our classes:

    If you've ever felt intimidated or even afraid in the kitchen;

If you've ever wanted to throw a dinner party but didn't think you could so you never entertain; or,

If you've ever just wanted to enjoy cooking but never thought it was possible.

Then recreational cooking is for you!

  • WHAT IS A "RECREATIONAL" COOKING CLASS?

Recreational cooking classes are designed for people who want to enjoy cooking and entertaining more.

  • HOW MUCH DO YOUR CLASSES COST?

Unless it is posted otherwise, these are typical rates for classes.

Individual adult classes start at $70 per person.

Date Night Classes are priced per couple.

Also, we serve complimentary wine in our classes to those of legal age (that was 21 the last time I checked) as a courtesy (I mean, you can't cook without a glass of wine, amiright?) and there is no charge for it.  You may choose to drink wine or not but the price for the class remains the same.  We also have ice water.  You are also welcome to bring your favorite beverage.

  • HOW LONG ARE YOUR CLASSES?

Unless otherwise noted, adult classes are two hours long from 6 to 8pm. Kids classes are 1 1/2 to 2 hours long, typically from 10am to noon.

  • MINIMUM AGE OF STUDENTS:

There is a minimum age of 17 for our adult classes. 17-year-olds must also be accompanied by an adult.  Adult classes are those that do not specifically note the age range for which the class is designed. We regret that we cannot make exceptions. In order to make this a pleasant learning experience for all students, no young children or babies are allowed to accompany you in class.
